Why Ball Bearing Snap Swivels?

Ball bearing snap swivels have a major advantage over traditional snap swivels. Namely, they rotate smoothly and easily, keeping the spin in the swivel, and the twist out of your line.

Rite Angler’s tournament ball bearing snap swivels are engineered to help not only lessen tangles and reduce line twist, but to keep your baits swimming straight.

For high-speed trolling, ball bearing snap swivels help reduce line twist even if baits happen to pop and tumble out of the water at 15kts. The better your bait looks, and the more naturally it swims, the higher the probably you get a strike from your target species.

By helping to reduce line twist, kinks and knots, ball bearing snap swivels actually increase the overall strength of your entire setup.

Engineered inside the ball bearing snap swivel you’ll find a ball bearing. Ball bearings are designed to reduce friction between the metal pieces, leading to easier rotation. This allows for less twist and better bait/lure presentation.

Traditional snap swivels are “metal on metal” and do not rotate as smoothly or easily as ball bearing snap swivels, and can lead to more knots, kinks and twists.

Species to Target

Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Albacore Tuna, Blackfin Tuna, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Swordfish, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Goliath Grouper, Nassau Grouper, Snook, Tarpon, Black Grouper, Cubera Snapper, Wreckfish, Kingfish… and all other large saltwater gamefish.

Why 7 different sizes of ball bearing snap swivels to choose from?

Both coastal and offshore anglers know that Rite Angler ball bearing snap swivels help to greatly reduce line twist, are incredibly strong and insanely durable. But not every tournament ball bearing snap swivel is good for every situation.

Smaller ball bearing snap swivels, like the Spin DWE (30lb) are great for inshore fishing with spoons and spinnerbaits. This is especially true for anglers who sight fish for snook and tarpon, and need to use a fast retrieve to get their lures in the strike zone.

Medium sized ball bearing snap swivels like the Dolphin DWE (75lb) are perfect for anglers who troll either lures, dead bait, or slow troll live bait for species like Mahi and Kingfish.

Larger sized ball bearing snap swivels like the Marlin DWE (200lb) are not only great to use when targeting billfish, but also work great when trolled at high speed for Wahoo.

The Unlimited DWE (500lb) ball bearing snap swivel gives you the strength needed to fight monsters like Goliath grouper. Your back might break, but the swivel won’t.

Rite Angler has designed seven different ball bearing snap swivels in two different finishes to allow you the flexibility of using the best quality terminal tackle, in any situation.  What’s better, we offer our ball bearing snap swivels for about half the price of the competition.

I used to love these snap swivels but the design has changed …

After only purchasing these snap swivels for offshore trolling applications, it looks like the design has changed - they now look like repackaged AFW ball bearing snap swivels. It’s been over a week since I inquired with Rite Angler and I have yet to hear back. May be switching gears in the future.
