If you love catching your own live bait, cast nets are the way to go. While some anglers use sabiki rigs to catch live bait, the best way to catch live bait is with cast nets. When using a cast net, your live bait doesn’t get hooked anywhere when caught.

This means your live bait will last longer in the live-well and be more active and attractive when using it. Catching live bait with cast nets means your baits are stronger and last longer!

No matter what you fish for, cast nets allow you to catch live bait that no predatory fish can resist. Most anglers know that live bait offers a better catch rate than dead or artificial bait. Using cast nets to catch your live bait means more meat in the box.
You can even use cast nets to catch shrimp for the dinner table!

Different types of Cast Nets

Rite Angler cast nets come in different radius and mesh sizes. This allows anglers to catch live bait of all sizes. When fishing for sails, big tuna, marlin, or giant grouper, try the 12-foot radius cast net with ½ inch square mesh. This cast net is better for catching large live baits like mullet or big goggle eyes.

When catching live ballyhoo, try the 8-foot radius, ¼” square mesh cast net. These live baits are awesome for mahi-mahi, kingfish and all other medium sized pelagic, reef and wreck fish.

When using a cast net, the bigger the bait you’re after, the bigger the mesh size you’ll want. And the more the baits school or ball up, like ballyhoo, the smaller the radius cast net you can use.

Our Cast nets come in different sizes like:

12-foot radius cast net with a 3/8-inch square, monofilament mesh

12-foot radius cast net with a 1/4-inch square, monofilament mesh

10-foot radius cast net with a 3/8-inch square, monofilament mesh

10-foot radius cast net with a 1/4-inch square, monofilament mesh

8-foot radius cast net with a 3/8-inch square, monofilament mesh

8-foot radius cast net with a 1/4-inch square, monofilament mesh

6-foot radius cast net with a 3/8-inch square, monofilament mesh

6-foot radius cast net with a 1/4-inch square, monofilament mesh

All Rite Angler cast nets feature a 6-panel design, 1 lb. of lead per foot and 30 feet of hand line. Our cast nets have a fast sink rate, they lay flat when thrown, are custom-made with clear mono and packed in a 3-gallon bucket.

All our cast nets come with a 3-gallon storage bucket so you can store your cast net safely out of the way after you load the live-well.
